Adam Gabriel Warnalis

December 14, 1992 — September 29, 2018

Adam Gabriel Warnalis, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend, passed into eternal life on September 29, 2018, at his home in Charleston, SC as the result of an epileptic seizure. Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Larry and Joan Warnalis of Virginia Beach. Adam is survived by his parents, Daisy and Mike Warnalis of Bedford, Va; brother, Tyler Warnalis of Norfolk, Va; sister, Anna Warnalis of Bedford, Va; sister, Challey Mielke (CDR Steven Mielke, USN) and two nieces, Miranda and Lydia Mielke of Norfolk, Va; and his maternal grandparents, James and Alice Williams of Lynchburg, Va.

Adam was born in Bedford on December 14, 1992, where he enjoyed a wonderful life with his family and many friends. Always an adventurer, he enjoyed many trips to the beach and to Fenway Park to see his beloved Boston Red Sox. Baseball was important in Adam’s life and he loved pitching, catching, and playing third base. Participation on many teams encouraged a sense of teamwork and accountability which served him well in his brief life.  After graduation from Liberty High School, Adam attended East Carolina University and Emory and Henry College, where he achieved a lifelong dream of playing college baseball. Although always fond of sports, Adam’s true love was for his family, friends and roommates. An old soul, he stayed true to his Words to Live By, especially “Happiness is only real when shared,” and “Teamwork is when everybody is committed to each other’s success.”

Adam’s infectious smile, sense of humor, and selfless personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his adventurous spirit will never be forgotten. It mattered not whether he was showing family and friends around Charleston, helping a customer at Sherwin Williams, playing tag with his beloved Lydia and Miranda, or simply being there for a friend in need, Adam was always truly present.

Adam dreamed of helping special needs children, especially those with epilepsy, teaching them how to find happiness and fulfillment in their lives. To honor Adam, please consider a gift to The Epilepsy Foundation of America, so that awareness and understanding can make a difference to millions of people affected by this condition.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Bedford, VA celebrated by Father Salvador Annonuevo and Deacon Chris Barrett.
