Alan Keith Beeks
Keith Beeks, of Charleston, SC, beloved husband and father died Friday, May 26, 2017 at the age of 56. He was born on October 31, 1960 and raised in Laurens, SC. Keith attended Laurens District 55 H.S. and graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Management.
Keith was a dedicated employee at the Medical University of SC as a Project Manager in the Office of the CIO. He was greatly appreciated and highly respected by the MUSC family.
As a young boy, he was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was an accomplished classic pianist for which he received many awards.
Keith had a passion for the Clemson Tigers, the outdoors, gardening, boating, fishing, and his pets. But above all, his true devotion was to his family, especially to his daughter, Kimbell, who was his pride and joy.
Keith was an active member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and attended weekly Men’s breakfast. He was an active member of this church community and consistently volunteered with Crisis Ministries and Habitat for Humanity. Keith’s faith was the guiding light in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Diane Dobbins-Beeks, his daughter, Kimbell Ellen Dobbins and mother Patricia Beeks Leopard (Joe Leopard), and his nieces, Rachel and Rebecca Beeks. He is preceded in death by James Fred Beeks (father) and James Kevin Beeks (brother).
A service in celebration of his life will be held on June 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church. The internment will be private.
