Amy Mayo Simpson, 62, of Summerville, SC, passed peacefully in her home on Friday, October 10, 2014, after a courageous battle with Myvo Bacterium Avium (MAC), from which she has suffered for 10 years after surviving breast cancer. She was a customer service representative at Rick Hendrick Toyota, and continued working until July 2013, when her illness forced her to remain home. Amy was born Amy Susan Mayo on January 30, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of Robert and Myrtle Mayo. She was the widow of Larry Dale Simpson. Amy is survived by her children, Cindy Strickland of Colorado Springs, CO; David Isbell of Columbia, SC; and stepchildren, Jeff Simpson of Byhalia, MS; Tina Fritchey of Charleston, SC; Jason Simpson of Moncks Corner, SC; and Dawn Neal of League City, TX; and a sister, Brenda Costa of Memphis, TN. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, Austin, Noel, Tara, Devon, Hayden, Presley, Damron, Jacob, Jessica, Brianna, Nolan, Taylor, Scarlett, Wyatt, Ally, and Riley. Amy Simpson will be remembered for her giving heart, as well as her strength and resilience that she maintained while always appearing graceful.
