Arnold Wayne Pope

With deep sadness we announce the February 12, 2024 passing of Arnold 'Wayne' Pope. Born March 26th 1942 in Abilene, TX to Batson Pope and Virginia Pope (Boudeloche) - both previously deceased.

Wayne graduated from Suitland (MD) high school in 1960, then left his successful construction business to answer the call to ministry. Wayne attended Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, IL) and graduated in 1969. His 30+ year dedication to service took him to Illinois, all over Texas, and to Connecticut/Rhode Island. A gifted orator, Wayne had a special talent for growing church congregations and Christian schools - many of which thrive to this day. He retired in Summerville, South Carolina. 

Wayne Pope is survived by his wife Susan Rathke Pope, step son Brian Kidd, step daughter Kelsey Kidd, sister Donna (Pope) Steffensmeier, son Kevin Pope, daughter in law Lan Pope, daughter Kristie Pope, son Kenneth Pope, grandchildren Lucas Pope, Liam Pope, Kara Pope, David Murray, Ashley Pope, Amanda Tomlinson, Nicole Vandale, Scott Vandale, Chevy Perry, Kyle Perry, Stephanie Perry, Jenny Perry, great grandchildren Samantha Cheeseboro, Arya Perry, Ronan Murray, Mina Murray, Keira Tomlinson and Penelope Tomlinson.
