Arthur Robert Purdie, Jr.

Arthur R. Purdie Jr. of Moncks Corner SC departed this earthly life on Saturday July 23, 2022.

 

Arthur was born on July 21,1947 to the late Arthur Purdie Sr. and Annie Grant Bonneua. Arthur received his early education in Charleston County schools and he received his Associates Degree from USC.

 

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a sister, JoAnn Myers and a brother, James Pickney.

 

Arthur leaves to cherish his memories a son Darrell J. Thomas ( Debra) Rowlette,TX; a daughter, Amanda S. Benekin, Charleston SC; five grandchildren, Shondreka, Denisha, Dj Benekin all of Charleston, SC and Darrell and Daniel Thomas of Rowlette, TX; a great grandson,  Amir Calloway-Jaques of Charleston, SC; three sisters, Albrertha (Mae) Ferguson, of Moncks Corner SC, Janimae Middleton ( Seymore) of Ladson SC, and Genvieve Williams of Saint Mathews SC; a brother John R Purdie of Moncks Corner SC; and a devoted friend, Bobee Burgess.  Arthur also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly with his wittiness.

 

We will cherish all the good days that we shared. Rest in peace Daddy, Granddaddy, Great Granddaddy, Brother, Uncle and a true friend. You are loved by all.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday July 30th at 5pm at 344 Maplewood Rd. Moncks Corner SC, 29461.
