Barbara Lee Elsey

Barbara Lee Elsey “Bobbie, Barb” of Charleston lost her battle with cancer at home on June 21st. She was born October 29 1945, was married to the late Wade Allen Elsey “Bump” and was the daughter of Mae Hyrne and Henry Nichlous Doscher Jr. She is survived by her daughter Christine (Chris) and husband Trey Eckles of Irmo, and her sister Patricia (Pat) and husband Paul Everett of Charlotte.

Barbara was loved by many, and everyone loved her “stories”. Her favorite things to do were traveling with her husband, walking along the beach, dancing, music, making up her own words to songs and working in the yard. She always said, “getting your hands in dirt is the best therapy there is”. She will be greatly missed, but always remembered.

A private ceremony will be held at Old St. Andrew’s Parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to: Crescent Hospice, 4401 Belle Oaks Drive Suite 105, North Charleston SC, 29405.
