Barbara 'Babs' Hollins Legg entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones in Kingstree, SC, after a long and courageous battle with lung disease. She was 69. She was born May 18, 1946 in Augusta, GA, to the late Delores Weaver Williams and Len Hollins. Babs grew up in Charleston, SC, graduating from Bishop England High School and Augusta Technical College. She spent her life taking care of others as an LPN from private doctor offices to her final years working for Lake Moultrie Nursing Home and Kingstree Nursing Home. She loved reading, being at the lake or beach and was an animal lover. Babs lived a quiet life and was always worried about others before herself. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two children Michelle D. Johnson (Tim) of Andrews and James (Jimmy) Smith Legg III of Columbia. Three grandchildren: Cynthia Nicole Johnson (Ryan) of Washington, DC, Jonathon Tyler Barnes of Tyler, TX, and Kymber Hollins Legg of Sumter. Two brothers: Ted Williams (Julie) and Paul (Tookie) Williams of Melbourne, FL. And her faithful companion until the end, Petey, and his extended family Gizmo, Zelie, Henry and Millie. Family will informally receive friends at 600 North Virginia Street, Kingstree on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 11am to 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Lastly, a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina in Kingstree for taking such great care of Ms. Barbara.
