EASTOVER - Blake Martin Byars, 25, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015. A memorial service will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home Northeast Chapel at 4219 Hard Scrabble Road on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends following the service until 2:00 p.m. Blake was born in Irmo on August 17, 1990 to Cynthia Sims and the late Mark Randall Byars. He enjoyed being with his family and hanging out with his friends. He had a love for cars and animals; especially, his dog Goliath. He was known for his sweet tooth as well. There was nothing Blake loved more than him spending time in the kitchen working on his next masterpiece. In addition to his loving mother, Cynthia 'Cindy' Sims he is survived by grandmother, Elizabeth 'Libby' Lever; grandfather, Amos Lever; siblings, Joseph Matthew Alvarez Jr., Melissa Alvarez Cheek and Savannah Belle Sims. He was a loving and devoted uncle to Chloe McKenzie Alvarez, Ryan Alvarez, Shayna Cheek, Jacob Cheek, Shane Spire, Kayla Spire, Lily Alvarez, Lucy Alvarez and a new niece or nephew on the way. He had many uncles, cousins and dear friends. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandfathers; Carroll Eugene Byars, Wayne Swindler, Marshall Swindler and Floyd Lightfoot and grandmothers; Reba Byars, Me- Maw Black, Sadie Lightfoot and Margaret Swindler. He also joins his Uncle Rick Byars. Blake was beloved by all and will be missed greatly. He will forever be in our hearts.
