It is with great sadness that the family of Carole Ann Nadeau (maiden name Jelinek) of North Charleston announces her passing after a 3-month battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the age of 80 years.
She was born on May 27, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of Helen Schriner and Charles Jelinek.
Carole was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She will be lovingly remembered by sons Michael Niemiec, Dale Niemiec (Ginny), and Bryan Nadeau (April) and, daughters Cynthia Bowers (Rick) Nicole Nadeau, and Grandchildren Valerie Dorrian, Matt Niemiec, Stephen Niemiec, Gino Bromelia, Vincent Niemiec, Dominic Niemiec, Tyler Nadeau, Jake Nadeau, Lauren Nadeau, Jessica Greer, Annie Haberek, Jacob Bowers and Great Grandchildren Nathan, Harrison, Henry, Luke, Charlotte, Nora, Finn, and Davylynn, brother Jack Jelinek, and sister Barb Kikol (John). Carole was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She was an assistant at the Cuyahoga Valley Vocation School in Cleveland for more than 20 years before pursuing her passion for taking care of children. Carole was a dedicated Nanny for many families in Cleveland and Charleston. During this time, she helped care for Sidney McPhail of Mount Pleasant for 15 years. Carole enjoyed travelling, visiting with family, and cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes and New England Patriots.
The family will receive friends on February 22, 2019 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Home at 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston SC 29414.
