Carroll Stevenson Eadie

Lovingly composed by the family of Carroll Eadie ~ In Memory of Carroll Stevenson Eadie, born January 23, 1950 in Walterboro, Colleton County, South Carolina, a son of Frances Hoff Ginn and the late David Watson Eadie. Carroll was born an identical twin. His twin’s name is Harold Cleveland Eadie. He was raised in Ridgeville, South Carolina, and most of his early life he lived in Gifford, South Carolina. Carroll’s beautiful daughter, Lynn, was born in 1972, and he had two very special granddaughters, Hannah and Reagan. Carroll enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson in 1968 and served two tours in Vietnam. He was with the 1st Infantry of the “Big Red One”. These soldiers were also known as the “Tunnel Rats” crawling through the tunnels of the Viet Cong and then destroying them. He also served with the U.S. National Guard for many years in Hampton, SC. He met the love of his life in Charleston, SC. He and Janet were married April 12, 2003 at their lake house in North Santee, SC. Carroll worked as a pipefitter in the Temporary Services Shop at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until his retirement. He went in business for himself in 1997, starting his company, Eadie’s Plumbing Service, and worked until he retired several months ago due to his illness. Carroll will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his outgoing personality, for his commitment to his family and friends, and for his integrity. He will also be remembered for his love of fishing, catching bream, crappie, and those huge catfish. He was known for his fish filleting ability, and enjoyed having people over and cooking delicious catfish nuggets at his weekend getaway on Lake Marion. He and Janet were always ready for a family get together at Gramma Ginn’s and we will forever remember all our fun times. Carroll also loved getting away from home for a little R&R, at the lake, in the mountains or on the ocean. He and Janet, his sister, Sandra and her husband James, and his twin brother Harold and his wife Kathy have enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean for the last five years together. He loved to sit on the Lido Deck, enjoying the buffet, cutting fool, and just people watching . We all had great fun together. We will miss Carroll very much and know he is now with the Lord, and happy and healthy again. We imagine he is catching up with all his loved ones that have gone on before him, and spending time in his boat…catching the fish! We love you Carroll. You will be in our hearts forever.
