Charlene Ann Fujarek

Charlene "Charly” Ann Fujarek entered into eternal rest on September 26, 2018 in Charleston,
SC after a brief illness surrounded by loved ones. She was 61.

Charlene was born on July 9, 1957 in Newark, NJ to the late Michael and Marilyn Fujarek. She
attended North Miami High School. Charlene attended Miami Lakes Technical Educational
Center where she obtained certification as a Legal Assistant in 1983. She then attended Broward Community College where she earned a Liberal Arts degree and her Paralegal Certification in 1994. A lover of education, Charlene, once again returned to school and attended Florida Atlantic University where she received an associates degree in Business and Communications in 1996. Upon the birth of her daughter, Charlene moved from Miami to Charleston in 2000 where she worked as a freelance paralegal for several firms in the Charleston area and cared for her mother.

Charlene was an outgoing soul with a passion for gardening, cooking, and furry friends. Her
sense of humor was contagious and her love for life and all things fun was unstoppable. Her
laughter could be heard from miles away. Charlene devoted her life to raising her beloved
daughter, Tayler. Her greatest joy was being a mom.

Charlene is survived by her daughter, Tayler Martinez-Fujarek of Pinnacle, NC; her sister,
Michele Fitzpatrick of Charleston, SC; her nephew, Brandon (Julie) Winchester and great-niece and great-nephew of Charleston, SC; and many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Marilyn and her beloved animals, Precious Allison (Ally), Chazmango Blue, Isabella, Saatchi and Sydney.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at McAlisterSmith Funeral Home on Bees Ferry in West Ashley. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charlene’s life.
