Charles Jerry Dickey Jr.

November 14, 1951 — July 24, 2016

Charles J. Dickey Jr. “Chuck” greeted his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 24, 2016. He is survived by his wife Christine G. Dickey; sister, Gwen Muriset (Alan); children: Jason Dickey, Jeff Dickey, and Jenny Penner (Josh). He is also survived by his step children: Sharon Courchesne (Ian), Michael Norman (Tami), Kevin Norman (Jessica), and Jennifer Dunaway (Chris); seven nieces and nephews, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many more beloved family members and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Wanda Dickey; parents Dorothy and Jerry Dickey; and niece Phyllis Roof. Chuck was born in Chester, SC in 1951, and at eighteen he joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. After his service, he settled down to raise his family on the banks of Lake Murray and was employed as a Nuclear Reactor Operator for SCE&G until his retirement. After the passing of his first wife, Chuck moved to the small town of Joanna, SC where he became a member of his beloved Sharon of the Rose Methodist Church. He met and found a soul mate in his wife Chris and enjoyed his retirement by sharing his sense of adventure, humor, and love of life with her. We are saddened by the loss of a magnificent man who took care of those he loved and did so with thoroughness and an unmatched sense of humor. We will join together to celebrate his life on Sunday, July 31st from 5pm to 7pm at Saluda Shoals Park at the River Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable donation to Thornwell Children’s Home in Clinton, SC in his honor. ARRANGEMENTS BY PALMETTO CREMATION SOCIETY, CHARLESTON, SC.
