Darryl Lee Hill

Darryl Hill, 62, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

Born on January 9, 1961 in Kittery Portsmouth U.S. Naval hospital and raised in Mt. Pleasant, SC of Madeline Bertha Hindmarsh and (the late) John David Hill, Jr.

Darryl grew up in Mt Pleasant, SC. From the very beginning, Darryl enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, farming, and Eagle Scouts. As a young boy, he was a part of Troop 15 Eagle Scouts as a vice chief of Lodge 236; order of the Arrow; member of explorer post 550; while a sophomore at Wando High School. He was awarded many patches for all of his achievements during his young age. He was a Merit Badge Counselor and Troop Committee Member. 

Out of high school, Darryl honored his country in the Navy from May 1987 to October 1995 as STS1 E-6 on the USS Francis S Key (SSBN 657) (Gold). He was a Petty Office supervisor and technician who demonstrated good leadership skills and management abilities as a sail safety coordinator, education service officer, and Sonar supervisor. 

After the Military, Darryl spent his career as a copier technician. His true career was hunting and coaching softball. He spent most of his time out in the woods at his favorite hunting club providing food for his family, but a true passion for the sport. Every weekend, he would be in the hunting stand by 3 am and on the softball/baseball field with his kids by 8 am. 

Darryl is preceded in death by his father John David Hill Jr.

Darryl is survived by Ashley Clark (Daughter), Steven (Son in Law), Noah (grandson), Paisley (granddaughter), David Hill (Son), Hannah (daughter in law). Darryl is also survived by his sister Lynn Laraviere (sister)and kids (Stephani, Pamela, Curtis, Erica),
John Hill III (brother) and kids. Darryl was a father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, and cousin to many who all loved him. He is also survived by all the loving friends throughout his years.
