David Carl Smith

David Carl "Smitty" Smith, died May 13, 2019 in Orangeburg, SC. He was born July 23, 1952 in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Gladys Smith and Milford O. Fisher, Jr. He was later adopted by John E. Smith, his step-father.
Smitty pursued a career working with carnivals across the country. He was a mentor to many he met through the carnival circuit. He had a vibrant personality showing he cared for those around him. He was a member of New City Fellowship (PCA) in Orangeburg, SC. He loved to worship with his church family and mde a positive impact, especially with the youth and college students. His love for the Lord was contagious. He was bold in his witness and loved to read the Bible.
He is survived by his brother, Robert E Fisher, and wife, Peggy of Reedsville, PA and his sister Patricia Smith Koch of McClure, PA. His aunt, Molly Shotzberger, and husband James of Lebanon and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Tony Provo, who he raised like a son and his fiance, Mary Consider. He was preceded in death by his mother, step-father, father and brother Daryl Fisher of Williamsport, PA.
There will be a memorial service for Smitty at New City Fellowship at a later date.
