Edward Cullen Kirchner, of Wadamalaw Island, SC died March 19, 2014, at the age of 66. Ed was born in New York City On September 28, 1947, to the late John Edward Kirchner and Louisa Byles Kirchner. Ed graduated from Stamford High School after attending the Priory in Portsmouth RI, where his love of sailing flourished, as he was named the captain of the sailing team. Ed had some amazing accomplishments in life; an honorary member of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, A Sprite racecar driver (the great pumpkin) as well as receiving his 500-ton Master Captains license from the US Coast Guard in the early 90’s. Ed was an avid sailor, a lover of life, a lover of animals, and a world traveler; to Ed there were no strangers in this world. Ed leaves behind Carol Kirchner; his daughter, Christine Nargi and son–in-law Timothy Nargi of Apollo Beach, Fl; His grandchildren Mr. & Mrs.Timothy Nargi, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA and Bryce Nargi of Woodbridge, Va. Additionally Ed leaves behind a sister; Mary Crawford, a brother and sister-in-law Joe Kirchner and Lisa Haugaard, as well as a niece, two nephews and a grand niece and nephew. A private memorial service will be held on September 28, 2014 to celebrate his life and his death.
