Evelyne R. Dwyer, 84, died Wednesday, April 11, 2024 at her Summerville home with her family by her side.
Born in Newburgh, New York, Lyne enjoyed living in the Hudson Valley before moving to South Carolina in 2011. She held a degree in theology and was an active member in both her church communities at Cornwall Presbyterian Church and Summerville Presbyterian Church.
Lyne was a woman of many talents. Her career endeavors reached far and wide: she worked with the Air Force ROTC at Newburgh Free Academy, taught Sunday school for many years, modeled in New York City, and provided protection for government officials. Lyne was an artist with specialties in pastels and ceramics. It brought her great joy to help design and create the scenery for several of the Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School's plays. She loved the Army Air Force annual football games, frequenting Jones Farm, and spending time with her family. Lyne truly lived a full life and touched the lives of all those who crossed her path.
Lyne was preceded in death by her son Philip ("LP") Maxwell. She is survived by her husband Phillip Dwyer; her son Edward ("Mickey") Maxwell and his wife Laura; her granddaughter Jacqueline Aragon and her husband Jerome; her grandson Kyle Maxwell; her niece Nancy Channell; and her granddaughter Tracey Kelly and her partner Rebecca.
