Frances Kay Bartlett, 87 of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Born on June 17, 1937 in Montgomery, AL, she was a Daughter of the late Katie Pitts (Carter) and Frances Myron Pitts Jr.
After years of work at several Universities, Kay joined the U.S. Air Force and gave her can-do spirit to our country as well! After the USAF she then became a reservist. She always carried that "Can-Do" spirit all her life, showing her spark and spunk everywhere she went. Kay also was an avid lover of horses and horseback riding, perfect for an Alabama gal! However, her love of going sailing or the beach ensured we we would see her in Charleston after all, where she proudly worked at St Phillips Church downtown.
Kay was also a home bred bibliophile with hundreds of books on all matters (including horses!). She was a self taught Art Connoisseur with beautiful, sometimes humor filled, works of art along the walls of her home. She is greatly missed and loved by all who knew her. Kay is preceded in death by her parents Katie Pitts (Carter) and Frances Myron Pitts Jr. She is survived by son Robert Bartlett, nephew Richard Myron Pitts and great nephew Eli Carter Pitts.
The service will be held at 10am on 5th of August at St. Phillips Church at 142 Church Street in Charleston, SC. The burial will be a graveside service, please show to the church office at 9:45am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shine The Light Campaign at St Phillips Church.
