Francis “Frank” Ward, 73, of Charleston, South Carolina passed away peacefully on 11/26/2024 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Frank – a long time resident of Bayonne, New Jersey before relocating to Charleston in 2019 – was born on September 21, 1951 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of the late Cornelius Ward and Mary (Kelly) Ward.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda (Milczarski) Ward. He is also survived by his two daughters – Dawn D’Amato (and her husband Mike), and Robyn Catanio (and her husband Mark) – and 4 grandchildren – Michael D’Amato, Nick D’Amato, Markie Catanio and Chloe Dahl. He was the loving brother to Jane Ward, Brian Ward (and his partner Karen Chiaro) and Mary Carlo (and her husband Dore). Frank is also survived by his adoring mother-in-law, Margaret Milczarski, his Aunt Irene Mackiewicz, his Milczarski in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Cornelius Ward, his mother Mary Ward, his sister Kathy Ward and his daughter Jennifer Ward.
Frank leaves behind many friends in both New Jersey and South Carolina. He was an avid pool player and loved hanging out with the guys and gals at The Knights of Columbus in Bayonne and Pub on 61 here in Charleston. He was also a member of “The Sac” –his group of fabulous neighbors in West Ashley who sure know how to have a good time. And Frank loved a good time! He will be sorely missed by them all.
A memorial mass will be held on
Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at St. Joseph's Parish 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407 at 1pm.
In addition a celebration of life will be held at a date and location to be announced by invitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that the next time you are out for lunch, dinner or other occasion, that you raise a glass of your favorite beverage in Frank’s memory. Frank was partial to Budweiser in a bottle – but you can have whatever you like. He’ll be cheers-ing along with you.
