Gary Dale Curtis, 78, of Summerville, passed away October 12, 2016. Born in Belle, Missouri, he was the son of the late Charles and Illa Curtis of Rolla, Mo., and the husband of Gail Proveaux. He was retired from the United States Navy after 22 years of service, and most recently retired from George Meyer Manufacturing. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Gail Curtis; daughter, Stephanie (Star) Churchill of Summerville; son, Don (Christa) Bishop of Waverly Hall, GA; daughter, Kathy (Mike) Hanuscin of Goose Creek; siblings, Alan Curtis of Waco, Texas, Marlene Albrecht of Rolla, Mo., Sherry States of Doolittle, Mo., Dennis Curtis of Rolla, Mo., Mike Curtis of Rolla, Mo.; grandchildren, Lisa Carrier, Crystal Gore, Daniel Bishop, Amber Birtles, Abigail Bishop, Ashton Bishop, Zachary Teske, Emily Hanuscin and McKenna Hanuscin; great-grandchildren, Avery Carraher, Alex Rodriguez, Jacob Gore, Isaac Gore, Adalyn Birtles, Greyson Birtles, Hannah Bishop, Davin Bishop; his extra special neighbors, Bill and Carol Carroll. Special thanks to an unknown heart donor that gave us an extra 16 years with this kind, loving man. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God, 337 Farmington Road, Summerville, SC 29483.
