George Patrick Evans

George Patrick Evans (Pat), 75, of Charleston, SC died March 9, 2023 at his home on James Island surrounded by his loving wife and family. "Pat" served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War where he received a Certificate of Retirement with an Honorable Discharge and was placed on permanent disability.

He loved cooking, camping, boating, fishing and working with wood in his workshop but his favorite love was his family. 

He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 147 and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 445. He was also a member of the Charleston ELKS Lodge 242.

"Pat" is predeceased by his parents George Belk Evans, Thelma Bernadine Evans and his brother William Alfred Evans. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his two daughters Susan White (Anthony) and Sandra Mixson (Danny). He is also survived by his five grandchildren Brittany Bradwell (Sam), Jacob Bradwell (Jess), Triston Murley (Hannah), Dylan White, Zackary White and his great grandchild Lyla Bradwell.

Graveside services will be held at the Beaufort National Cemetery March 21, 2023 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to American Legion Post 147 at 968 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412 or Roper Hospice at 8536 Palmetto Commerce Parkway, Ladson, SC 29456.
