Homer Saunders Klock, 86, of Seabrook Island passed away March 6, 2014 at Hospice of Charleston, Mt Pleasant. Homer was born September 8, 1927 in Jamestown, New York, retired to Seabrook Island in 1987 from New Jersey with his wife Nancy of 63 years. They raised 3 sons, Jeffrey, his wife Barbara and their daughters Jennifer and Meghan, Jennifer's husband Jonathan and Homer & Nancy's first great grandchild, Zoe; Douglas, his wife Jennifer and their daughter Samantha & son Douglas. Their third son died in 2010. Homer was the last of five children born to Homer and Agnes Klock, all of whom pre-deceased him. One brother served in WWII and is buried in France. he graduated in 1949 from Hobart College after attending Military Prep school in Niagara Falls, NY. He served with the 5th Army Finance Corps during the Korean conflict. His business career covered more than 30 years in corporate Human Resources where he attained executive level positions for three large companies, retiring as Director of Human Resources from Morgan Stanley & Co in NYC. After retiring to Seabrook Island, Homer was a past secretary and member of the Board of the Kiawah-Seabrook Exchange Club; served as one of the three original commissioners on the Seabrook Water & Sewer Commission; and was the second President after the Club of Seabrook was established. A Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Our Saviour on 4416 Betsy Kerrison Parkway, Johns Island Tuesday, March 11 at 11:30am.
