James A. Foura

August 17, 1977 — January 22, 2025

James Anthony Foura (Jamey), loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 47 at his home in Summerville, South Carolina.

Jamey was born on August 17, 1977, in Lancaster, Ohio. He’s the son of James Edward and Mary Christine (Carpenter) Foura, and brother to Julie (McCrady). Jamey graduated from Fisher Catholic High School in 1996 and then went on to college at Ohio University, earning a degree in Anthropology and Archaeology – but developing interest in nearly everything.

After college, Jamey traveled working as an archaeologist before moving to Columbus, Ohio. There he began a career in commercial real estate appraisal while living life to its fullest in and around town. Jamey met Leanna (Jadwisiak) at a housewarming party in 2007 and then the fun really began. Two years later, Jamey followed Leanna to Scottsdale, Arizona after she relocated for a career opportunity. He surprised her at the door of their new home with champagne and a ring.

Jamey and Leanna married on July 24, 2010, in Sedona, Arizona. They spent nearly the first decade of their marriage in the Scottsdale area, proud puppy parents to four rescued miniature pinschers. In 2018, their oldest daughter, Genevieve Monroe, joined the family. The trio relocated to South Carolina in 2020 and their younger daughter, Adeline Olivia, was born in 2022.

During their time in Arizona, Jamey’s entrepreneurial spirit took flight, and he developed a deep fascination with cryptocurrency, forex (foreign currency exchanges), and general high-frequency trading on the stock market. He spent years working with fellow entrepreneurs in these areas developing solutions that promoted growth and enhanced their ability to stay competitive, including spearheading a forex-managed fund from inception. In 2017, he became a founding partner of Enyxus Technologies, a patent- pending trading platform soon to transform the day-trading industry.

His desire to learn didn’t end with crypto – he never met a topic that didn’t pique his interest. Jamey didn’t just ask questions, he found answers. He researched and read and studied and absorbed. He was the epitome of a Renaissance Man.

Despite the achievements in his professional life, Jamey’s greatest accomplishments are known to cause Chaos and Mayhem under his own roof. To know Jamey was to know a man with unwavering dedication to his wife and daughters. Quite simply, “the best girl dad ever.” Jamey offered limitless patience, immeasurable love, and infinite support to Genevieve, Adeline, Leanna – and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Remaining to cherish Jamey’s memory are his wife, Leanna; daughters, Genevieve and Adeline; parents, Jim and Chris Foura; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Aaron McCrady; aunts and uncles, Tim and Marcia Carpenter, Cathie and Dean DeRolph, Cindy and Jeff Ritter, John Founds, Nancy and Tony Landis, Jimmy and Carmen Carpenter, Steve and Renee Carpenter, Chuck and Norma Foura; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; and countless friends across the country.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Charlotte Carpenter, Bob and Joyce Foura; aunts, Betsy Founds and Janet Tener; and uncle, Dan Tener. A celebration of Jamey’s life is being planned for later this spring. In lieu of plants or flowers – which Jamey knows full well Leanna cannot keep alive – a memorial fund has been established in Jamey’s name for Genevieve and Adeline.
