James V. Maner, Jr.

James (Jimmy) V. Maner Jr. of North Charleston, SC, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 after a three year battle with cancer.  Born in Charleston on January 28, 1955,  Jimmy was the son of the late James V. Maner, Sr and the late Mary F. Maner.  He was predeceased by his sister Yvonne Maner.

Jimmy is survived by his partner Melanie Sabback and her daughter Tiffany (Justin) and her son Matthew (Valerie); his former wife Bobbie Jo Maner; his children Lori Maner and Jimmy Maner III (Danielle); and his grandchildren Blake, Rhett, Lainey and Lincoln; and his sister Gaye Stahl (Jerry).  He leaves behind cousins, nieces and nephews that he was close to.  Jimmy would find time to take the little ones fishing at the pond.  Those will be memories not forgotten. 

Jimmy lived life like he was dying, and even more so these last three years.  You might find him fishing in the middle of a work day, camping for months at a time; attending any number of racetracks with Little Bobbie or playing pool until late in the night with his friends. He loved football  and wrestling.  His shop was a place to gather and socialize.  He would always stop what he was doing to visit with anyone who came by.  He had so many great friends.  He will be missed by all.

The family will host a Celebration of Life in Jimmy's honor on December 3, 2023 at the Hawk's Nest Park, 1177 Williams Lane, Hanahan, SC from 1pm-3pm.  Please come and share your memories.
