James Ray McNeely, 74 of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, went to walk with Jesus in Heaven on 16 August 2024.
Born on December 6, 1949 in Waynesboro, GA, son of (the late) Mary Frances McNeely (McKinney) and Ollie McNeely.
James was a graduate of Goose Creek High School, Class of 1970. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #399 and worked for many contractors in the Charleston area and Texas during his career. He was a Life Member of the NRA and an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many hours volunteering for the US Forest Service and the Department of Natural Resources in the Francis Marion Forest.
James is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Deborah McNeely, his daughter Amanda Clouse (Damien), his grandson Trevor Clouse, his brothers Charles McNeely (Becky) and William McNeely, his niece Tracy Cromer, his great nephews Alan Cromer, Phillip Cromer and Dylan Cromer, his sister in law Neschla McCall and his many cousins.
Services will be private. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the employees of Lowcountry Hospice House in Summerville for their very kind assistance provided during this difficult time. Special thanks goes out to his very loyal friend Robert Hess for his care and assistance over many years and all of his hunting buddies. He will be with you in spirit sitting around the campfire telling hunting stories and all about that fish that got away.
