James Michael Connor, 89, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord October 24, 2018 with his loving wife, Sonya Connor at his side. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jean Callahan (Barry), and Carla Goolsby (Brian) both of Connecticut, two stepsons, Scott Swanson (Mickey) of Oregon and Glenn Swanson of Colorado. He was happy to have two grandsons, 8 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the US Navy aboard USS Dionysus AR 21 repair ship as a metal smith during the Korean War and received the following awards Good Conduct Medal, China Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal and United Nations Medal. His career was in the aeonatic field at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut, in charge of Sheet Metal Materials. “Jim” was a very generous, hardworking man who was always busy in his communities, helping others. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Vance, SC, serving as an usher for many years, also volunteering at their outreach Center in many capacities. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 4th at 3:00 in the afternoon at the Hope Lutheran Church, corner of Hwy 6 & 310 in Vance, SC.
