Jeanette L. Thiesen

September 17, 1951 — September 28, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Jeanette Larue Thiesen announces her passing on September 28, 2024 in Summerville, SC at the age of 73.

She is survived by her three daughters: Melanie J. Newton, Adele J. Newton and Ashley B. Thiesen (Blaine Crevar); her granddaughters Kara Newton, Ava, Anya & Harper Crevar; her sisters Jennifer Daly and Julia Hjelm; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her former husbands: John Newton and Ronald Thiesen.

Jeanette was born on September 17, 1951 in Albuquerque, NM to (late) Flora June Kelder and (late) Gene Bridgman. While growing up and as a young adult, she moved all over the United States but settled down and chose to raise her children in Fort Lupton, CO. She moved to the Charleston, SC area to be closer to her youngest daughter, Ashley, and her family, which is where she lived her remaining years.

Jeanette dedicated her life to her family and was happiest spending time with her daughters and granddaughters. She held many jobs over the years but was most celebrated as a homemaker and called "mom" by many friends and family. She found great joy in her garden, nurturing a wide array of organic fruits, vegetables, and flowers while always supporting living creatures of all kinds. She also was often seen at yard sales and thrift stores, furthering her love for collecting antiques and unique vintage finds.

She had a passion for serving the underprivileged and dedicated much of her time as a volunteer to spearheading a non-profit, Blessings in a Bag, in affiliation with the Fort Lupton United Methodist Church. She also was heavily involved volunteering for the Fort Lupton Food Bank, United Methodist Women and many projects and organizations that supported her daughters and granddaughters over the years. Jeanette will be forever remembered for her kind and gentle nature, her love of children and animals, her passion for justice, her generous heart and her ability to make everyone around her feel seen and special. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Jeanette's name to Heifer International or a charity of your choice.
