Jeffrey “Jeff†Alan Rabun, 56, of Ladson, SC, died June 30, 2016 at Hospice of Charleston. Born December 6, 1959 in Chattanooga, TN; he was the son of William Eugene Rabun and Sharon Lee Smith Rabun. He graduated from Hanahan High School in 1978 and attended Trident Technical College. Jeff has been an avid sports coach since the early 1980’s. More recently, he was a fast pitch softball coach with the SC Bandits and an assistant softball coach at Fort Dorchester High School and before that Ashley Ridge High School. He has also coached high school baseball at Northwood Academy in the late 90’s and took the team to two state championships. In Jeff’s youth he was a member of the Chattanooga Boys Choir and a boy scout. Jeff was owner of SCSA (South Carolina Softball Academy) and gave private batting lessons to children of all ages. Jeff is survived by his wife, Carole Rabun of Ladson, SC; his daughters and son, Lauren Rabun Stroud, Jessica Rabun, Aubrey Rabun and Jonathan Vetter; his grandsons Jackson Stroud and Reed Stroud; his siblings, Nancy Rabun Hall and her husband, Jon Thouvenelle of Vail, CO, and Judy Rabun Burbage and her husband, Randy of Hanahan, SC; his niece and nephew, Rabun Jones and Greg Howard. A celebration of Jeff’s life by family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Sangaree Baptist Church, 415 Sangaree Pkwy., Summerville, SC 29486. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James E. Rabun. Flowers are accepted in time for the service on Sunday, July 10, to be sent to Sangaree Baptist Church, 415 Sangaree Pkwy., Summerville, SC 29486.
