Lorenz A Rathke

Lorenz Abel Rathke, age 78, of Goose Creek passed away Thursday, July 15,2021 in his home, peacefully. He was a graduate of Barret High School in Minnesota and received his BS from Charleston Southern University. A Navy Vietnam War Veteran/Nuclear Power engineer served his country for 28 years. Soon after retirement from the Navy, he followed his passion as a teacher in chemistry and biology. Larry was an avid reader. In very rare instances, would you see him without a book in hand. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Gale R.; daughter, Sandra Coleman; daughter, Deeanna Kupper; (Edward)daughter, Christie Sherron; (Ralph)daughter, Renee Rathke; son, Kevin Rathke. Loving grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
