Mari Lynn Bennett, 67 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was surrounded by family and friends every day, even on the day of passing. She was loved by so many.
Born on December 26, 1956 in Charleston, SC was a Daughter of the late Melba (Greenhill) Harley and Harvey Harley. She lived and worked in Charleston, SC for her whole life. She was the second to the youngest of six sisters.
Mari Lynn never slowed down throughout her life. She was on a constant battle to do as much as possible before her time ran out. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the park, and the water sprinklers. She also enjoyed fishing and crabbing. She would get so excited when she caught fish, even the smallest one would make her smile. Even though she was not an avid speller, she loved playing Scrabble by herself.
She enjoyed reading romance novels. She would spend countless hours walking through Walmart. She would also drive around with no destination, just to do it. Most of all, she enjoyed eating Chinese buffets. She would talk about Chinese food every day. If she was not busy eating Chinese food, she was busy cooking. She would always cook extra so she could take some to friends and family.
She attended Seacoast Church for many years, and even brought other people with her. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She was certain she knew where she wanted to go when she passed, and no one is going to derail her place in Heaven, next to the Lord and her loved ones.
Mari Lynn is preceded in death by Harvey Harley (Father), Melba Harley (Mother), Delores McGrath (Sister), Sandra Phillips (Sister), Patsy Ann Phillips (Sister), Kelvin Bennett (Son).
Mari Lynn is survived by her daughter, Maranda Bennett, her son, Daniel (Allison) Bennett, her fiancee, James Garner, her sisters Billie Jean (Mike) Grubbs, Carol King, Pamela Harley, her grandchildren, Jadelyn Wingo, Sierra Sharper, Nykira Sharper, Keyana Sharper, Cardale Bennett, Kelvin Bennett, Londyn Bennett, and her great-grandchildren, Caleb Wingo, Emilia (Emmy) Wingo, and Kaedyn Sharper.
