A great light of love and kindness has left our world. Maryann Wagner (Dama) died peacefully at home, leaving a void that will never be filled, but a wealth of loving memories for all who knew her. Maryann was born May 15, 1938 in Greenville, SC, the daughter of Robert and Ann Wagner. She was a shining example of how a life should be lived, so filled with kindness and generosity. She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with and was a caretaker to many. She was an incredible mother, artist and friend. She is survived by her children Charles Nicholson, Reba Parks, Liz Nicholson Hust and Philip Nicholson. Her greatest joy in life came from her grandchildren, Daniel and Will Nicholson, Chip Potts, Amanda Potts Ruthven, Phil Hust and Rachel Hust. She is also survived by her brother, Robert “Uncle Bubble†Wagner and sisters Ruth “Nippy†Browning, Randi Thompson and Whitney Harken and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Sandi Pratt and Margaret “Booie†Garvin. She spent most of her career in human resources, but worked until shortly before her death at Plantation Pharmacy. It was one of the greatest joys of her life. She adored everyone there and her customers. The family is so grateful to Dr. Keith Jennings, the incredible nurses and staff of the cancer ward at Roper Hospital and the angels of Caris Healthcare Hospice. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you simply take the time to help a stranger. Donate or lend a hand to some one less fortunate. Take the time to say “Hello in There†to someone down on their luck. Her legacy is one of love, kindness and generosity. Please honor her this way.
