Michael Joseph Agneta, 68, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital after a heroic battle with tonsil cancer.

Born on October 26, 1955 in Albany, NY was the son of Dolores Agneta (Merriman) and the late Michael Charles Agneta.

He lived in Edison, New Jersey for over 30 years before retiring to Myrtle Beach in 2020. He worked many years in Local 9 Plumbers and Steamfitters and also had his own business in the HVAC field.

Michael was a man of many interests and hobbies. He was a history buff who always enjoyed coin collecting and photography. In South Carolina he became an avid member of the Wildlife Action club where he participated in pistol, trap, and skeet competitions. He spent a lot of time doting on his beloved pugs, Peanut, Pepper and Yogi.

Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years Joan Agneta (Basta) and mother Dolores Agneta. He was a loving father to Nicole Garrigan (Richard) and stepchildren Heather Mailler and Mark Mailler (Nicole). He is also survived by his Godmother Connie Merriman. He had eight siblings. His sisters are Barbara Agneta and Julie Bukowski (Peter). His brothers are David (Louann), Steven (Stacey ), Robert (Mary), Joseph (Gina), Alan (Patricia) and Carlo (Kathy ). He is survived by several nephews and nieces as well as grand nephews and nieces.

A memorial mass will be held in Albany, New York at a later date.
