Michael Roy Shelton, 73, of Goose Creek, died Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Lake Moultrie Health and Rehab, St. Stephen, SC.
The son of the late Bertha Lea Hanson Shelton and James Berry Shelton, he was born in Bremerton, WA and had lived in North Carolina before moving to Goose Creek over thirty years ago. He worked in corporate management for Family Dollar before retiring several years ago.
An avid golfer, who has been playing since he was a child in California, but was prouder of his wife, children, grandchildren and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Roy Shelton, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Blackwell Shelton, Goose Creek, SC; two sons, Micki Shelton, Wichita Falls, TX, Edward “Bari” Shelton (Wendy), Greensboro, NC; a daughter, Angela Shillinglaw (Ormand), St. Stephen, SC; a sister, Joyce Turbeville, Fayetteville, NC; six grandchildren, Caleb Shelton, Wyatt Dangerfield, Waylon Dangerfield, Maddox Shelton, Presley Shelton and McKinlee Shillinglaw and several nieces and nephews. He was looking forward to the birth of his seventh grandchild, Layne Michael Shillinglaw.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11am at Living by Faith Baptist Church, 2328 Nexton Parkway., Summerville, SC29483 (843-688-4045).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be directed to the church.
