Mikel William Danielson passed away on October 27, 2019 at the age of 28.
Mikel was the third child of Bill and Carol Danielson of Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, born on December 26, 1990 in Washington, DC. In 1997, his family started The Mikel Foundation, a charity in his name that raises money for families of children with genetic disorders and for genetic research. The Mikel Foundation has raised nearly a million dollars since its inception and it lives on as his legacy. Mikel’s life has truly made a difference.
Mikel is survived and forever remembered by his parents, Bill and Carol, his siblings, Kyle Danielson and Jackie Bowers, his beloved caretaker, Tomeko Jenkins, his grandmother, Georgianne Danielson, his nephew William James Bowers, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mikel was preceded in passing by his grandfathers, Carmen Scarpellino and Don Danielson, his grandmother, Eleanor Scarpellino, his uncles Mike Scarpellino and Jack Scarpellino, his aunt Susan Tiernan, and his cousin USMC 2nd Lt. H. Alex Senopoulos III.
