Pamela Jean Saunders-Williams, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015. A Celebration of Pam’s Life will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, October 15 in the Historic Church at St. Andrews Church of Mt. Pleasant, 440 Whilden Street. Pam was born to the late Thomas and Lenora Saunders on August 15, 1951 in Charleston, WV. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of SC in 1980. Pam met her late husband, Mark Wayne Williams, while completing her internship at the VA Hospital in Charleston, SC. Pam was passionate about helping people throughout her career in mental health. She enjoyed kayaking, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Pam was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her altruistic heart was an inspiration to others and she will be deeply missed. Pam is survived by her son, Dubyn Williams; daughter; Savannah (Scott) Whitsitt, grandsons, Irie “Bubba†Williams, and Micah “Boo†Whitsitt; and brother, Tom Saunders.
