Peter Tinker Douglass

It is with great sadness that the family of Peter T. Douglass announces his sudden passing on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the age of 80.

 

Peter was born in Windsor, Vermont in 1941 to George and Esther.  He graduated from Lee High School in Lee, Massachusetts in 1959.  Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy.  Peter earned his dolphins in 1960 and continued in submarine service until he retired in 1980 as a Chief Petty Officer.  He earned his associates degree in electronics in 1980 from Norwich Community College.  After retirement, he worked in the nuclear field and private security.

 

Peter enjoyed traveling, camping, watching movies, riding motorcycles, horseback riding, classic cars, and telling Navy stories.  He was an avid reader and history buff.  He will be forever remembered as a loving father and wonderful Pop Pop.

 

Peter is survived by his beloved daughter, Heather Moore, his son-in-law, Stuart, and 2 granddaughters, Kathryn and Jordan, all of Summerville, SC, and numerous extended family members and friends.

 

Peter is predeceased by his parents, George and Esther; brother, Brian; and grandson, Avery.

 

A private service will be held at a later date.
