Randall Roberts Summerville- Randall “Randy†Roberts, 55, of Summerville, passed away at home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis, on Friday August 10th , 2012. He was born on May 22nd, 1957, the son of Sarette Roberts Fender and the late Fred Roberts. He is survived by his mother and his two daughters: Sarah Ashlee Roberts, and Caroline Blake Roberts, and their mother, Dawn Massalon Roberts; two brothers: Russell A. Roberts of Annapolis, MD, and James M. Roberts of North Charleston, and a sister, Sheryl R. Bidwell, of Mount Pleasant and their children. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Bethany United Methodist Church at 118 W. 3rd South Street, in Summerville. Visitation with the family will be held at 1pm in Spell Chapel with the Memorial Service at 2pm. The burial will be private and arrangements will be made by Palmetto Cremation Society, Inc. of Charleston. Randy was a resident of Oakbrook Health and Rehab of Summerville for six years. He was a member of Bethany Methodist Church and a Summerville Jaycee. His many interests included landscaping, leathercraft, restoring antiques, fishing, and shrimping. Randy was an avid cycler prior to his illness. He enjoyed following Nascar racing. He was a Nuclear Radiographer at the Charleston Naval Shipyard before retiring. The family expresses great appreciation to the staff at Oakbrook for their loving care, and to Luthern Hospice of Charleston.
