Raymond Victor Grooms, Jr.

Raymond Victor Grooms Jr., 73. Born in Charleston, SC on April 4, 1947 he passed away peacefully in Summerville, SC on February 24, 2021.

Raymond was survived by two daughters: Angela Regina Greene of Bluffton, SC and Jennifer Jordan Matthews of Moncks Corner, SC. His niece Terri Wadford and nephew Charles Buddy Peeples. Close to his heart were his two grandsons: Maddox Cash and Jaxson Cole Matthews.

Raymond graduated from North Charleston High School then attended the Baptist College in Charleston, SC. He was also a member of New Covenant Church of God in North Charleston. He retired from CSX Railroad. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing. Raymond enjoyed sports so much that he spent many years coaching softball for his daughters and at Berkeley High School. When Raymond wasn't on a ballfield, he was in his garden. After harvesting vegetables, he was generous with sharing them to his large circle of friends, church members and family. Raymond was loved and he will dearly be missed.
