Robert Bowers, better know as Bob, age 65 of Cottageville, South Carolina passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024.
Born on October 4, 1958 in Ethiopia was a Son of Dorothy Sue Bowers (Boyer) and late Wesley Cleon Bowers.
He served in the Navy from 1978-1988. He later met his wife Kay in Texas the weekend of Thanksgiving in 1983 and they knew days later they would spend their life together and did just that. In 1985 shortly after his daughter was born (who wrapped him around their finger), they were moved to South Carolina, were he later retired with Honorable Discharge and grew their family adding a son, Robert (who was just as hard headed as him). Bob loved listening to loud rock and roll music with a huge bonfire every chance he got. Loved throwing down in the kitchen inventing his own dinners which was great every time, but could never remake it twice.
Loved hunting and fishing in his early days and anyone who knew him knew he loved his Budweiser. Bob was also one of the greatest welders known and took his job to heart! He was one of few that could conquer certain welds in his time. He also had a huge heart for his dogs; Rebel whom he leaves behind, but Angel, Rocky, Peewee, Baby and Bobo who he joins. My dad was many things in life, but one thing we all know is he was big hearted and loved us all.
We love and miss you daddy more than anything and no words could ever describe the pain we are feeling, but we will carry you with us till the very end.
Robert is preceded in death by his father Wesley Cleon Bowers.
Robert (Bob) is survived by Phyllis Bowers (Wife), Stephanie Carroll (Daughter), two granddaughters Breanna Carroll and Rilynn Nichols, Son-in-law Scott Nichols of Myrtle Beach; Robert Bowers JR (Son), grandson Jesse Bowers, Daughter-in-law Faith Bowers, Troy and Tyler Qualls (Step-sons of Robert JR) of Cottageville; Carl and Linda Bowers (Brother/Sister-in-law) of Texas; Steven Bowers (Brother) of Texas; Dorothy Bowers (Mother) of Texas; upon many more cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends on or around October with date to be determined. Bob was not a fancy man and wanted a celebration of what he loved doing most. We will be hosting a bonfire and music at his home in honor of him. Invites will be sent closer to date once decided.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his wife, Kay (Phyllis) Bowers. Contributions may be sent to Kay's Cash App account: $BowersKay
