Larry

Robert Lawrence Mackey, (Larry), 77, of Charleston, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023. Born on January 22, 1946 in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Ralph Emile Mackey, and Mary Jacques Mackey.

Larry was employed by the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) for over 30 years. He retired as Supervisor of Food Services in 2006.  

Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years Cheryl Mackey (Gillam), daughter Lisa Preston, daughter Leslie Medlin (J.B.), and son Robert Lawrence, Jr. (Veronica); Grandchildren Fisher, Adelle, Miranda, Conner, and River; Brothers Dalton (Sue), and Steve. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson's Foundation of Charleston (MUSC) or the Hospice of Charleston

Memorial arrangements will be made at a later date.
