Rosemarie Geisler, age 88, passed away on March 2, 2022 in her Summerville home surrounded by peace, love, and family.
She was born on October 3rd 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother Marie Koch, was a homemaker, and her father, Hans Koch, was a surgical instrument maker. As the daughter of German immigrants, Rosemarie was raised with their values of dedication, hard work, and perseverance. She attended Lutheran schools and as a young girl played piano, enjoyed dancing at the Turn-Verein and sang with the Jugendchor.
In spite of the odds of growing up in the Great Depression and World War II she had great fortitude that was combined with a smile and laughter that would light up a room. She was daring and brave for a woman of her time; always willing to learn and try new things. Her many interests included cooking, ball room dancing, bowling, traveling, photography, arts and crafts, boating, and the creation of her fabulous Christmas Village. She worked hard, and continuously cared for and was devoted to her family and everyone around her. She told great stories of the past and her travels as she continued to dance through life. Her smile, her strength, and her wonderful sense of humor will be most remembered and greatly missed.
“Although you were short in stature, you were mighty in spirit, and your heart was a big as you were! You were also smart, funny, and passionate. You even made us laugh in the hours before you died and you didn’t stop fighting until you were ready to let go.… Although it is difficult to say goodbye, we know that you are, above all else, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and we understand God’s need for another Angel”.
Rosemarie was married to Richard Geisler on Oct. 15th, 1955. She is survived by him, her four children: Michael, Stephan, Douglas, and Nyala; eight grandchildren: Ciara, Julie, Courtney, Emily, Eric, Michael T, Laura, and Karl; and 5 great grand children: Dash, Bode, Conner, Riley, and Emery.
A Memorial Service will be held for her in Boca Raton, Florida on May 7, 2022.
