Roy Taylor, Jr.

February 13, 1955 — October 24, 2017

Roy Taylor, Jr. (Bubba) passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Hospice of Charleston in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina from a long and gallant fight with kidney disease. He was 62 years old. Bubba was a long time resident of James Island but as late resided in Mt. Pleasant.

He was born on February 13, 1955 in Charleston, the first son of Roy Taylor and Doris Spring Taylor. He graduated from the last senior class of James Island High School on Camp Road. Bubba was a bachelor.

His chosen career as a truck driver took him from coast to coast and boundary to boundary of the United States. This was the perfect career for Bubba as he liked to talk and exchange tales. He had lots of stories and adventures to share with his family and friends.

Bubba liked to fish and be on the water. He also enjoyed visiting with good friends and family, whether it be around a campfire, in someone's living room or sharing a meal together. He always had lots to add to any conversation.

He leaves behind a brother, Guy Taylor and 3 sisters, Cindy Hamlin (Osgood), Lynn Brown (Johnny) and Jo Streett. His beloved Aunt Evelyn Fuller and Aunt Inez Fort are among those he loves. There are also many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends who love Bubba. But the love shared by Uncle Bubba and his great nieces and nephews is immeasurable and a treasure forever.

Bubba is predeceased by both parents, and his brother, Robert Taylor.

No funeral services are planned and burial is private as per his wishes.
