Scott Avery Stanley, beloved husband, father, and son, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with colorectal cancer since 2018. He was 56 years old.
Born on August 7, 1968, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Scott was the son of Jo Anne Beck and Allen Edward Stanley III. He graduated from North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in 1987, before continuing his education at High Point University in High Point, North Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics in 1992.
It was at High Point University that he met the love of his life, Jamie Raymond. The couple became engaged and moved to Mount Pleasant, SC, in December 1996, where they began building their life together.
Scott’s career was marked by his dedication and hard work. He earned his Certified General Appraiser license, Real Estate license, and more recently, a Remote Pilot License from Clemson University. He was deeply proud of his accomplishments and committed to his profession.
A Life Member of the VFW 3137 on Isle of Palms, thanks to his grandfather Donald Avery Beck’s service.
Scott was a true light in the lives of all who knew him, and his infectious personality touched countless hearts. He was a social soul who thrived in the company of his friends, always the life of the party with a smile that could light up any room. He loved to have fun, and his energy was nothing short of contagious, whether he was laughing with friends or sharing stories that always seemed to make everyone laugh.
To Scott, friends were everything. He believed in loyalty above all else, and he was a friend who could always be counted on. He was never afraid to speak his mind, unafraid of what others thought of him, and his honesty and openness were qualities that everyone admired. His friends and family knew him as someone who would go to any lengths to support those he cared about, always putting others first. He had a huge, unforgettable smile that could brighten anyone's day, and warmth in his heart that made him incredibly caring. Scott was the kind of person who made you feel seen, loved, and valued. He was a true friend, a loyal companion, and someone whose presence will be missed deeply.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Jamie Raymond Stanley; their daughter, Avery Raymond Stanley; their son, Banks Sullivan Stanley; his parents, Jo Anne Beck and Allen Edward Stanley III; his sister, Erika Stanley McAllister, and her husband Tom; his niece, Erin Brooke McAllister; his nephew, Luke Matthew McAllister; his aunt, Sherry Beck Blalock; his uncle, Tim Blalock; his aunt, Jan Beck Richie, uncle Joe Richie; and cousins Chad Blalock (and his wife Mandi), Brandi Goodbar (and her husband Kyle), Graham Morris (and his wife Susan), Taylor Morris (and his wife Lacie).
