Toby Clark

April 29, 1944 — October 18, 2015

Toby G. Clark, age 71, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his residence in Charleston, SC. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Patricia Kruger; his son, David Clark of San Diego, California, daughter, Amy Clark Nemec (Matt) Granville, Ohio; grandchildren Emily and Andrew Nemec; sister Carol Sawyer Clark of Grapevine,Texas; and brother Scott Clark (Katy) of Punta Gorda, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Clark. Born and raised in Indiana, he resided in numerous states and moved to Charleston in 2000. He graduated from Ohio Northern University and Wayne State University. He had a long and successful professional career in hospital pharmacy management and education, and received numerous awards and honors. He was a deacon at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church and was involved with many organizations including the SC Historical Society, the Charleston Library Society, the Medical History Club, Boy Scouts of America (BSA), the Carolina Yacht Club and the Waring Library Society. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 23 at 3:00 p.m.at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting Street, Charleston with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Donations may be made to First (Scots) Presbyterian Church; the MUSC Foundation, 18 Bee Street, MSC 450, Charleston SC 29425; or the Coastal Carolina Council BSA .
