Virginia Eileen Deweese Bessinger

Virginia Eileen DeWeese Bessinger left this earthly life to be with The Father on June 7, 2023.  After battling Parkinson’s disease for many years and cancer the last year of her life, she died peacefully at Johns Island Post Acute Care. 

Eileen was born July 14, 1945, in Lynch, Kentucky. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School and a lifelong resident of North Charleston. Eileen loved the beach, and loved to decorate, with immaculate taste in home décor.

Eileen is survived by her son, Robert Derrick Bessinger (Melissa) of League City, Texas; a sister, Shirley Ann DeWeese Entwistle, of Burnsville, North Carolina; a half-sister Brenda Gail Payne Wheatley (Chuck) of Charleston; 4 beautiful grandchildren, one
great grandchild, and many nephews and nieces. Eileen’s life was blessed with her lifelong friend, Mary Ann Bowman, and the care and guidance of Cynthia Hiott during her past few years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearlie Lewis Payne,
her stepfather, Marion Guy Payne and half-brother Steven Guy Payne.

A memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Palmetto Cremation Society, North Charleston, SC.
