Wade Callaway ''Pee Wee'' Kirk

Wade C. Kirk (Pee Wee) passed away January 26 at a nursing facility in Mount Pleasant, SC. Wade was born April 25, 1929 to Bedford C. and Gracie McCarty Kirk in Simpsonville, SC. He is predeceased by 6 brothers, 4 sisters and his 3 children: Karen C. Miller, Steve and Mark Kirk. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Christine Kirk of the home; brother, George M. Kirk, Piedmont, SC, son-in-law, Eslie Miller, Saluda, NC and Donna C. Jones, North Charleston, a loyal family friend of many years. Mr. Kirk served a short stint in the Marine Corps and then with the Navy, serving aboard the USS Piedmont. “Pee Wee” was a barber for 50 years, 35 of which as co-owner of the Ritz Barber Shop formerly on Augusta Rd in Greenville, SC. His last 15 years of barbering was with the well known Plaza Barber Shop also in Greenville, before retiring to North Charleston in 1998. Pee Wee cut the heads of many generations of Greenvillians. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Northbridge Baptist Church, 1160 Sam Rittenburg Blvd, North Charleston, SC 29407. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northbridge Baptist Church.
