Winston F Proveaux Sr

Winston Proveaux Sr., 81, of Bamburg, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 peacefully at his home in Summerville, South Carolina. 

Born on September 12, 1943 in Bamburg, SC, he was the son of the late Floyd Alton Proveaux and Daisy Dodd. 

Winston dedicated over four decades as a long haul trucker. He was a faithfulmember of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Summerville, SC.

He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and his time at the senior center with his friends. He also enjoyed conversations and visits with his nephew, Johnny Blume, and his relationship with his "Sunshine" of 14 years, Darlene Searfoss.

Winston is survived by his sons, James Proveaux, and Justin Proveaux. He is also survived by his sister, Gail O'dell, many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Winston is survived by, Darlene Searfoss and extended family members, Brian (Teresa) Searfoss, Jeff (Liz) Searfoss, Nathan Searfoss and Caroline (Jess) Stillinger.

Winston was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Daisy, his sisters, Lili Blume and Wanda Snyder, and son, Winston Franklin Proveaux Jr.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, and a date is to be determined.

Winston's presence will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
